The Great forest in the North: The need for strategy and collaboration
A Swedish national living in Washington, DC, Lars has a forestry degree from the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) and a PhD in Industrial Forestry Operations from Virginia Tech. After a decade of research and six years of research administrator at SLU and the European Commission, he joined the World Resources Institute in 1998 and led work to map intact forest landscapes in Russia, to produce a guide to sustainable procurement of wood and paper products, to create the Forest Legality Alliance, and to map global opportunities for forest landscape restoration. As a consultant, Lars has worked for the ISEAL Alliance and FAO.
